ABOUT US
In 2020, our founder Heidi Breeding received a calling from God to create an organization that would service homeowners in repairing and restoring their houses to their full potential. There were already people building new homes for those in need, but her community needed help fixing up existing properties and making them habitable for the families already living there. She envisioned a system that would allow families to keep their homes value without losing it due to financial struggles. With God's vision in mind, PETRA Built was born.
PETRA Built is a Christian, nondenominational, nonprofit organization that partners with homeowners who have fallen into hardships to restore their homes. We prioritize people who are disabled, victims of natural disasters, and anyone else currently unable to assist themselves in fixing up their homes to a habitable standard. Our goal is to help restore existing houses and regain the property value, as well as create a warm and inviting space that people deserve to come home to. Not only does this helps the individual families, but also ensures that the community stays looking
updated, and keeps the property value high in lower income neighborhoods. We are made up of volunteers who want to see better living standards for people in their own community. Churches, local companies, and fundraising events have all come together to be an integral part in making this vision come true. Right now we are based in Houston, Texas but have plans to expand into different regions in the future. PETRA Built is a tax exempt charity under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.
